SlickFast is open source under AGPL-3.0.
The licensed Software is the drawing engine and packages — JSON spec in, chart or whole
Page out, same bytes forever. Local MCP is free. Embedding that
engine in a closed commercial product takes a commercial license: cheap, per-app, no license keys,
no hoops.

What a commercial license covers

How it works
No license keys, ever. You buy a license, you get a receipt and the
license agreement, and the software keeps working
exactly as it always did — nothing to activate, nothing that phones home. We price
licenses low enough that buying one is easier than not.
Questions
- What counts as "one app"?
- One product your company ships or operates. All internal tools for your own team
together count as one app.
- We only use MCP or Pages on your cloud — do we need this?
- No. Hosted MCP, the hosted API, Share URLs, live charts, and published Pages
on
api.slickfast.com are the service plans.
This page is for when your product embeds or self-hosts the engine packages.
- Why does commercial use need a license at all?
- The engine is AGPL-3.0. Embedding AGPL code in a closed product would require
open-sourcing your product too. A commercial license releases you from that obligation —
that's the standard dual-license model used by many open-source engines.
- Commercial vs. OEM — which am I?
- Where does the engine run? On your servers (inside your SaaS or backend) —
Commercial. Shipped out the door and installed at your customers' sites — OEM.
- Does using the hosted API put AGPL obligations on me?
- No. Calling
api.slickfast.com (or hosted MCP) is using a service — no
code license involved, no copyleft. See the Terms.
- Can I evaluate before buying?
- Yes — evaluation is free, full-featured, and untimed. Buy when you ship.
